Common Questions
1. What should I wear?
- Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. Make sure it’s clean and pressed.
- Follow any guidance your company has provided around colours or dress code.
- Solid colours and simple, minimal patterns tend to photograph well.
- Avoid clothing with large distracting logos unless they’re part of your company’s brand.
- Feel free to bring a second option if you’re unsure and we can help you decide.
- Try not to overthink it! You should still look and feel like yourself.
- If you’re being photographed on white, please avoid wearing only white shirt/blazer/blouse. White under a jacket is fine.
2. Do I need my hair and makeup done?
It’s not necessary! However, for some, professional hair and makeup can help finish the look and help you feel confident. Otherwise, come looking how you normally would for an important day at work. Some tips:
- Hair should be clean and styled.
- Avoid wearing spf.
- Makeup can wash out on camera so I’d recommend wearing more than you normally would.
- Check that your teeth are clean for your best smile.
- Bring anything you may need for touch ups.
3. What happens when I arrive?
- First we check to make sure everything is in place and you’re looking your best.
- We direct your positioning and poses, making adjustments as we go.
- We’ll have a quick review of the images to ensure you’re happy with the overall look and feel of your shots before wrapping.
- Expect about 10 minutes total.
4. What if I hate having my photo taken?
We get it – You’re not alone! Surprisingly, a lot of people feel this way and aren’t used to being photographed professionally. The goal is to make things easy. You don’t need to know how to pose or have any experience in front of a camera. I’ll guide you through the process, helping you feel comfortable and making sure you look your best 🙂
5. Before your session checklist:
Check your company’s schedule for your photography time
Choose your outfit
Avoid arriving immediately after a workout or rushed commute if possible
Give yourself a few minutes to settle in
Bring any alternate clothing you’d like to consider
Come ready to be photographed — I’ll take care of the rest
6. What happens after the shoot?
Your selected image(s) are professionally retouched to create a polished, natural result. This typically includes colour correction, skin cleanup and small distractions, while keeping you looking like yourself. Natural, realistic and flattering.
